WPV-CERT Community Emergency Response Team
Serving the communities of
Woodside - Portola Valley - Emerald hills - Ladera - Los Trancos - Skyline - Vista Verde
The Woodside Portola Valley Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) supports our community’s ability to respond and recover after a disaster event.
CERT-trained volunteers learn how to prepare themselves and their families for disasters and how to assist others in the neighborhood or workplace immediately following an event when emergency responders may not be available to help.
We train together, acquire and organize emergency resources, backup communication systems and help our community when called upon.
We also have another program in our area, WPV-Ready.Org (a.k.a. "Ready") , which focuses on individual household preparation (vs community response which is the objective of CERT)
Our Blog: What we have been up to recently. See a list of all our blog articles here.
To become a CERT you need to take a basic training class. Next one starts February 4 in Portola Valley Ranch. Details & Sign up here
Some new and useful information or training opportunity every month. Starting with our CERT Activation and ICP Setup exercise!
We have two CERT Basic Training classes each year, one in February/March and one in the fall. Find out more about our next training and sign up !
Starting in 2025, we will have Monthly Meeting Series - both to stay in touch with each other and to refine our skills and readiness. These are optional but all CERTs are invited to join. Some of these seminars will be on Zoom, some will be in person (like when we do an exercise)
We have several regular events such as weekly radio check-ins, monthly trailer workdays and committee meetings. Check out our Calendar page for more details or to subscribe to our event calendar so you never miss a CERT event by accident.
